Budapest

About Budapest

Budapest sits in a glorius position on the legendary River Danube. Famous for its spas and cuisine this is clearly one of the most beautiful Eastern European cities. With its embittered history, incredible architectural heritage and rich cultural dimension, Budapest deserves its title as the "Pearl of central Europe", often compared to Paris. The city is full of broad regal avenues with fantastic parks and amazing bathouses steeped in history. The amazine Gellert spa facility is old and decedent yet truly inspiring.

The best time to go to Budapest:

Budapest on average gets about 2000 hours of sunshine a year, among the highest in Europe given you a wide choice of times to visit and avoid the higher and madness of peak season time July-August. Springtime and autum time are the best times to visit Budapest with plenty of things to do and see. The coldest month is clearly December but even then you typically get spectacular blue skies albeit with a bite of cold.

During Budapest's long and hot summer there is a huge variety of outdoor entertainment, many of the spa/bath facilities have an outdoor dimension and are an unusual treat.
