Budapest Airport
Budapest Ferihegy Airport is the only international airport serving the beautiful capital city of Budapest. It is the largest of the Hungarian airport with five international terminals. Budapest intenational airport offers a wide range of international connections primarily within Europe, but also serves airports in Asia, the Middle East and Norther American. It is expected to carry about 8 million international visitors in 2008.
Budapest airport is located (10 miles or 15 Kilometres) east-southeast of Budapest, accessible by the major transport artery of Üllői út.
By Rail to Budapest City center from Budapest airport
Passengers can reach Ferihegy Terminal 1 from the western railway station in Budapest. This opened in July 2007 and trains typically run every 40 minutes. The cost of the train is 300 HUF which is about GB1.25 OR €1.80. yOU can buy your tickets at the Touriform counter at Terminal 1 of the Budapest Airport. Tickets are sold between 09.00 and 22.00. Tickets can also be purchased on the train from the train conductors.

Another way of getting affordably to and from the airport is using the Minibus service.
Like many international airports, Budapest Airport also has a ‘shuttle service’ called as ‘Airport Minibus’. Typically 4 to 6 passeners are taken to their address in Budapest.

In the arrival-level passenger hall our passengers should go to the customer service desk and give their address. You will soon be whisked away to your destination while possibly dropping a few other people on route to Budapest. Tickets are available at the Airport Minibus counter in the arrival-level passenger hall of Ferihegy Airport. The Airport Minibus counters are open between 05.00 a.m. and 01.00 a.m. at the Terminals. For the return jouney you simply call the following number 24 hours before your departure time and they will coordinate to pick you up at the specified address. If you are on your own this is a more affordable option that catching a taxi.

A new taxi service started its operation on 15 August 2006 at Ferihegy. The new operator, Zóna offers the maximum fares from the airport as follows:

The fares shown below are the maximum fares in forints which Zóna Service will be allowed to charge in each zone for a journey. The journeys will also be metered, and if the meter shows a lower fare, then passengers will only pay the lower fare.
The fares are fixed in the Service Contract between Budapest Airport and Zóna Service and prices can be increased only once a year, in accordance with official KSH inflation data.
